Goodwin Granger began making rods in Denver, Colorado shortly after World War I. Several grades and models were produced until about 1942 when production was suspended for the Second World War. During the 1920s and 1930s, Granger fly rods acquired a deserved reputation for excellent casting characteristics, durability and the ability to handle almost any fishing situation.
After 1946, Wright & McGill leased and then acquired the Goodwin Granger rod-building operation and produced rods under the Granger name until the mid-1950s.
Knowledgable fishermen know that Granger rods are just as fishable today as they ever were. We've been collecting, fishing and evaluating Granger rods for over 45 years. Scott W. has even built and restored a few. If you're looking to acquire a genuine Granger -- from either the Goodwin Granger or Wright & McGill eras -- to fish or collect, please visit this page often and/or let us know exactly what you're looking for.
The fly rods offered will all be scarce, unique or very special.
